That Tree

This is a portrait of a very unusual tree located in Lakevale, Nova Scotia. It has fascinated me from the first time I saw it in the Fall because it is absolutely spectacular at that time of year and yet one hardly notices it the rest of the time. It has a unique shape that makes it look as if it’s on fire, and a startling array of colours. For a brief period it can be completely red but at other times is a range of reds, oranges and golds, as depicted here.
